Mrs. Willie G. Werner, nee Edna Potschernick, 88, of Comfort died Dec. 6, 2002 at Southeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.
Mrs. Werner was born Dec. 29, 1913 in Boerne to Herman and Emilie (Bergmann) Potschernick. S
he married Willie George Werner on Nov. 25, 1934 in Boerne. She made homemaking and caring for her 10 children her lifelong career.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Clara) Herbst and brother, Emil Potschernick.
Survivors include eight daughters and two sons, Emily and Marvin Haecker of St. Hedwig, Texas; Selma and Leroy Kramer of San Antonio; Willie O. and Maxine Werner of Comfort; Edna and Dean Massey of Kerrville; Cora and Lando Sullivan of Fort Worth; Shirley and Jim Bandy of Hail Center, Texas; Mary Jane and Roy Waters of Kerrville; Judy and David Foster of Norfolk, Ark.; George and Sherrie Werner of Adkins, Texas; Cindy Green of San Antonio. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Herbst and husband, Felix, of Boerne, and Mrs. Kurt (Ella) Eichholz of Comfort; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Edgar (Alma) Agold of Boerne.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel in Comfort with Rev. Sam Radoman officiating.
Burial followed at the Comfort Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Russell Haecker, David Kramer, Max Werner, James Werner, J.W. (Bubba) Massey and Charles Meier.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maria Martha Verein and the Comfort Cemetery Fund.
Arrangements and direction were by the Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel, Comfort.
