Mr. Tony Eric Stallings, 43, of 1115 Swinson Road, Jamesville, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Spring Garden Missionary Baptist Church, Washington with the Rev. Dr. E.R. McNair officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Stallings was born in Washington County on May 7, 1959. He was the son of Malisise Luberta Jones Stallings and the late Jordon Stallings Sr. He was reared by Rufus and Shirley Simpson of Roper. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School. He did further studies at Jarvis Christian College, Hawkins, Texas. He was employed for 20 plus years with Hamilton Beach of Washington. At the time of his death, he was a maintenance mechanic with Whitford Enterprise, Washington and was also an employee of Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington. He was a member of the Roper branch of NAACP. On Dec. 17, 1983, he was married to Ada Tatum Stallings, who survives. During his youth, he joined the Bethel Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Roper and was later affiliated with Spring Garden Missionary Baptist Church, Washington.
Survivors include one daughter, Conseula T. Godley of Durham; five sisters, Takareatha S. Phelps, Angela Simpson and Annette Simpson, all of Roper, Ruth Rumph of Burtonsville, Md., and Patricia Jackson of Plymouth; five brothers, Ricky Stallings, Jordon Stallings Jr., Gregory Simpson and George Simpson, all of Roper, and David Stallings of Windsor; and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the home.
