Mr. George William “Bill” Huntley Sr., 73, of Grimesland, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Huntley was born in Anson County, the son of the late George E. and Mary Huntley. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. In 1958 he made his home in Grimesland. He was married to Nancy Buck Huntley, who survives. He was employed by E I Dupont Co. for 33 years prior to his retirement, but continued to work his real estate business until his death. He was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, Chocowinity.
Survivors include one son, George William “Bill” Huntley Jr. of Tarboro; two brothers, Edmund P. Huntley of Morven, and Robert F. Huntley of Lilesville; and one sister, Lela Flax Mueller of Houston, Texas.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville, and other times at the home.
