Mrs. Margaret Mayo Watson Mizelle, age 78, a resident of Vintage Inn, Hwy. 17 South in Williamston, died on January 9, 2007 at Martin General Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington and will be officiated by Greg Sexton. Burial will follow at Wesley Cemetery. Lawrence Watson III, Ted Gray, William Mizelle III, Daniel DeGeest, Mike Mayo and Stanley Mayo will serve as pallbearers. Guy Mayo will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Mrs. Mizelle was born in Beaufort County on June 1, 1928 daughter of the late Jack Mayo and Piney Elks Mayo. She was married in 1945 to the late Lawrence Watson Sr. She later married William Herbert Mizelle Sr. in July 1952. Mrs. Mizelle worked as a cashier at Colonial and Big Star Grocery Stores for many years.
Survivors include: her children, Jeanie Watson of Bunn, Lawrence Watson II and his wife Diana of Chocowinity, Billy Mizelle and his wife Lisa of Greenville, Anna DeGeest of Williamston; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mizelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six brothers.
