Mr. Levi “Paul” Hopkins, 47, of 773 Old Pamlico Beach Road West, Belhaven, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at his home.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill, conducted by pastor Medford Hopkins.
The following will serve as active pallbearers: Robbie Hopkins, Nicky Hopkins, Freddie Lee Hopkins, Steve Foster, Donnie Keech and Dwayne Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Hopkins, Josh Hopkins, Winkie Underhill, Roberto Loya, Clyde Kirk, Michael Hopkins and Bonner Sawyer Jr.
Mr. Hopkins was born in Beaufort County on December 27, 1959. He was the son of Murphy Jackson Hopkins Sr. and the late Margaret Delores Daniels Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins worked as a commercial fisherman.
On October 4, 1982, he married the former Tina Marie Guest, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Heather Foster and Justin Hopkins both of Belhaven; a son, Christopher Hopkins, of Belhaven; his father, Murphy Jackson Hopkins Sr. of Belhaven; a brother, Murphy Hopkins Jr. of Belhaven; and one grandson.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by a brother, James Robert Hopkins.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home.
