Louise Wilson Marsh, 91, of 6993 NC HWY 32 N, Roper, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Marsh was born in Chapanoke, NC on December 2, 1915 to the late James Christopher and Susie Mae Wilson. She was married to the late Robert S. Marsh. Mrs. Marsh was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, graduated from Perquimans County High School, a graduate of Mercer University Class of 1937, Macon GA; a member of Delta Kappa Gamma; a member of International Society of Educators since 1947; and was a public school teacher for 37 years in Chowan County and Washington County.
Mrs. Marsh was preceded in death by her husband Robert S. Marsh, one brother: Major Calvin Wilson, USAF retired, Chapanoke, NC; two sisters: Elizabeth W. Ross, Coral Gables, Florida and Sue W. Warner, West Palm Beach, Florida. She is survived by a son: Robert S. Marsh, II, Indian Trail, NC; one daughter: Anita Fox and husband George, Reidsville, NC; two brothers: Crawford Wilson, Hertford, NC; Dr. Curtis Wilson, Wilson, NC; one sister: Ruth W. Jackson, Charlotte and two grandchildren: Landis Marsh and Josiah Fox and many nephews and nieces. Special friends and neighbors include Clintoria Swain, Tommy and Beverly Furlough, and Mildred White.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 11:00 am at Hebron United Methodist Church, Buncombe St., Roper with Rev. Frank Alexander and Rev. George Fox officiating. Family will receive family and friends following the memorial service at the Church. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Gardens, Plymouth.
