Mr. Alphes Rupert Chesson Sr., 74, of Williamston, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in The Memorial Baptist Church, Williamston, with pastor Robbie Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Tice Cemetery, Farm Life community.
Mr. Chesson was born in Martin County, the son of Annie Chesson and the late Mark Chesson. He served in the Army. He was married to Betty Manning Chesson, who survives. He was retired from Williamston Motor Company, where he served as general manager.
Survivors include three sons, Al Chesson and Doug Chesson, both of Williamston, and Brant Chesson of Holly Springs; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Elwood, Charles, Jimmy and Keith, all of Williamston, and one sister, Diane Whitley of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Manning.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston.
