Ms. Janet Lynn Mendenhall Whitaker, 49, of 1717 Allen Williams Road, Williamston, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, with the Rev. Greg Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Whitaker was born in Norfolk, Va., on Jan. 9, 1958. She was the daughter of Ralph Gray Mendenhall Sr. and Louise Keith Mendenhall of Williamston. She received an associate degree in banking and finance from the University of South Carolina. She was an insurance agent and manager of customer service with Triangle Planning Services in Williamston. She attended Macedonia Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jami Lynn Wesley of Washington; one son, Matthew Wesley of Greenville; one sister, Carol Williams of Washington and one brother, Ralph Mendenhall Jr. of Greenville.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the home of her parents, 1780 Allen Williams Road, Williamston.
