Mrs. Barbara Jean Chesson Swain, 61, of 762 Marriner Road, Roper, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at noon Monday at Bethel Church of Christ DOC in Roper with the Elder Benny Mackey and pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Chesson Cemetery in Roper.
Mrs. Swain was born April 29, 1946 in Portsmouth, Va. She was the daughter of Theodore Chesson and the late Mary W. Chesson. She married Roosevelt Swain Jr. who survives on February 16, 1963. She was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ and participated in the senior choir.
Survivors include three daughters, Angela Swain Hannon of Forestville, Md., Juanita Swain Gibbs of Killeen, Texas and Gloria Swain Burke of Broomall, Pa.; one son, Eric Swain of Washington; eight sisters, Doris Chesson, Gloria Chesson, Victoria Chesson, Norvilla Chesson, Mary Chesson and Sharon Chesson all of Plymouth; nine brothers, Thomas Chesson of Baltimore, Md., Theodore Chesson Jr., Horace Chesson, Curtis Chesson, Steven Mason, Andre’ Nixon all of Roper, Michael Chesson, Clinton Chesson, Jerry Chesson all of Plymouth; and ten grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bethel Church of Christ in Roper.
