HAVELOCK — Richard Duree Berry, 68, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007. He was born in Swan Quarter, NC on February 15, 1939, to the late Lillie Mae and Carlos Randolph Berry.
His brothers, Carlos Randolph Berry, Jr. and William Timothy Berry, preceded him in death.
His sister Leonoa Berry Lupton, a son Richard Derreck Berry of Fremont, NC and several nieces and nephews to include Yvonne Lupton Denton, Betsy Lupton Olkowski and Suzanne Lupton Sanderson survive him.
Richard, a giant in stature and in heart, worked for a logging company, worked on a shrimp boat and ended his work career as an Engineer on the tugboat “Patricia” where he traveled up and down the East Coast.
The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter, NC from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the family plot at Soule Cemetery in Swan Quarter, NC at 3 p.m. Sunday.
