Bullets are defending Tideland Conference unbeaten champions

JAMESVILLE — Coach Richie Ange and his Jamesville Bullets, the Tideland Conference champions a year ago, begin the season Aug. 24 at Plymouth. Jamesville was unbeaten in conference play last year.
The Bullets, who have a bye week Aug. 17, invade Plymouth, a member of the Albemarle Conference, to begin the season. The Vikings took a 42-8 win last year.
Jamesville, 9-3 overall and 8-0 in conference play last year, will play its home opener Aug. 31 against Bunn. The Wildcats, a member of the Class 2-A Northern Carolina Conference, and Bullets didn’t meet last season.
The Bullets will then face fellow 1-A Tideland Conference members the rest of the way. Jamesville welcomes the Columbia Wildcats into town on Sept. 7. The Bullets posted wins of 12-0 and 42-0 over the Wildcats in 2006.
Ange’s troops then visit Mattamuskeet on Sept. 14. The Bullets picked up wins of 28-8 and 28-6 over the Lakers last season.
The Bullets are home Sept. 21 against Creswell. Jamesville posted three wins over the Tigers last year, including a 48-8 victory in the playoffs. The Bullets also earned wins of 62-21 and 30-0 in the regular season.
Jamesville travels to Cape Hatteras on Sept. 28. The Hurricanes fell 38-2 and 44-8 to the Bullets last season.
After a bye week, the Bullets return to action Oct. 12 at Columbia.
Jamesville plays host to Mattamuskeet on Oct. 19.
Ange’s team visits Creswell on Oct. 26 and then ends regular-season play Nov. 2 at home against Cape Hatteras.
