Mrs. Letty Lupton Mayo, 79, a resident of 1104 Harrington Street, Washington, N.C., died Sunday August 5, 2007 at the Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday August 7, 2007 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Dr. Jimmy Moore. Pallbearers will be Ken Dickerson, Wayne Dickerson, Larry Dickerson, Eddie Bryant, Kenny Moore and Lavern Mayo. Honorary Pallbearer will be Geary Winstead.
Mrs. Mayo was born in Pamlico County on October 31, 1927, daughter of the late William Thomas “Will” Lupton and the late Amanda Leary Lupton. She was a graduate of Hobucken High School. Mrs. Mayo married Jesse Ray Mayo, who survives, on April 19, 1947. She was a clerk with the Charles Department Store in Washington for more than twenty years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washington.
Mrs. Mayo is survived by her husband, Jesse, of the home; a daughter, Jackie Gautier and her husband Harry of Washington and another beloved daughter, Laurie Moore and her husband Kenny of Washington. Mrs. Mayo was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday August 6, 2007, at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home.
