Mr. John F. Smith, 58, a resident of Britthaven of Washington, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Britthaven of Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Mount Calvary United Holy Church, Washington, with pastor Rickie Battle officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Smith was born in Pamlico County on Nov. 4, 1948. He was the son of Josephine Gibbs Smith and the late John Oliver Smith. He was a 1967 graduate of Pamlico Central High School in Stonewall. On Dec. 15, 1978, he married Florence Ann Keyes Smith, who preceded him in death March 17, 2005. He was employed with Robert Griffin Piping Co. He was a member of Mount Calvary United Holy Church, Washington.
Survivors include one daughter, Krisha Ann Keyes of Washington; one son, Kelvin Latef’ Keyes of Philadelphia, Pa.; six sisters, Ann Amicy of Brooklyn, N.Y., Wilma Jones and Virginia Smith, both of Mesic, Levern Roberson of Cash Corner, Lavendar Smith and Marina Cole, both of James City; one god sister, Nan Beasley of Maribel; five brothers, Samuel Smith and Hubert Smith, both of Aurora, Hildrew Smith of Providence, R.I., Oliver Smith of Rocky Mount and Charles Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Smith and Carletta Smith and four brothers, Hilton Smith, William Smith, Joseph Smith and Kenneth Smith.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington, and other times at the home of his daughter, 514 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
