Plymouth’s senior football player’s will never forget last night.
The Vikings’ 17-member senior class was honored at halftime, and accounted for all seven of Plymouth’s touchdowns in its 52-0 Senior night victory over Southside.
Running back Tobias Clagon scored three of the Viking’s (7-0) touchdowns, to go along with 136 rushing yards.
Clagon’s senior running mate, Andre Mitchell, scored the Viking’s first two touchdowns, both from seven yards out.
The Vikings, who scored on six of their eight possessions against the Seahawks (0-6) Friday night, also got touchdowns from seniors Angelo Sharpless and Dasheen Perry.
Despite all the memorable plays this senior bunch made on the field, being escorted onto the field at halftime is something the talented players will always remember.
Clagon got his moment, and made the most of it. Clagon’s final score came on a 45-yard dazzling run, but he said he couldn’t do it all by himself.
Cody believes that the success that the Vikings have had this season didn’t come overnight, and is well deserved.
Plymouth, which is ranked fifth in the state, equaled its season high of 44 points in the first half against Southside. The Vikings scored 22 points in each of the first two quarters, and recorded its state-high fifth shutout of the season.
Despite the gaudy numbers and blowout victory, Cody knows the Vikings have a tough Williamston Tiger’s team coming to town next week, and some things to get better at.
