Mr. Matthew Ryan “Matt” Cherry, 21, of 2600 Chadwick Road, Marietta, Ga., died Sunday October 21, 2007, as a result of injuries received during a robbery.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2007, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington with the Rev. Marty Hager officiating.
Mr. Cherry was born in San Antonio, Texas, on March 8, 1986, son of Edwin and Brenda Eby Cherry. He was a 2004 graduate of Lassiter High School in Marietta, Ga. and had continued his education at Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Ga.. Matt was an assistant manager of the Game Stop in Marietta, Ga.
Survivors include his parents, of Marietta, Ga; a sister, Katie Cherry of Marietta, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Ray Eby of Charlotte and Yvonne Fralick of Adairsville, Ga.; paternal grandfather, Jack Cherry. of Florence, S.C. and his life partner, Bradley Gordon, of Marietta, Ga. Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Jessie W. Cherry.
