Mrs. Elver Morris Hudson, 85, died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at her home.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro by the Rev. Norman Morris. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Hudson, a native of Craven County, lived her early life in the Piney Neck Community and had made her home in the Wilmar community for the past 60 years. She farmed with her husband for a number of years and was later employed at Hamilton Beach Scovill in Washington until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of Tabernacle Holiness Church.
Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Paul Hudson and a daughter, Janice H. Stokesberry.
She is survived by: Daughters, Pauline Mills and husband, Donald, and Virginia Lewis and husband, Frank, all of Wilmar; Brother, Archie Morris of Vanceboro, 5 grandchildren, Lisa Taylor and husband, Bill, Donna McLawhorn and husband, Timothy, James Paul Lewis and wife, Miranda, Amanda Hellen and husband, Michael, and Michael W. Lewis and wife, Teresa, 5 great-grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Lewis, Jonathan Hellen, Hailey and Jacob Taylor.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro and at other times at her home.
