FUQUAY-VARINA — Edward Patrick Boyd, 40, of 6601 Flying Geese Ct., died Thursday after a short battle with cancer. Patrick was a loving husband, father, son and brother. A native of Beaufort County, he was a 1985 graduate of Pungo Christian Academy and a 1991 graduate of North Carolina State University where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. For 13 years, he worked for Valent Chemical Company who remained loyal and faithful to Patrick throughout his illness. He was a member of Garner Church of Christ where he served as a deacon.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Garner Church of Christ, Garner. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina.
The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church.
Surviving are his wife, Amy Allen Boyd; daughter, Sarah Nicole Boyd of the home; son, Ethan Owen Patrick Boyd of the home; his parents, Eddie and Iola “Tinker” Boyd of Pantego; a brother, Jamie Boyd and his wife, Rae of Clayton; maternal grandmother, Mary Cutler Keech of Pantego; father- and mother-in-law, James and Linda Allen of Pantego; sister-in-law, Tina Allen Lyon and her husband, Mike of Fuquay-Varina; nieces, Callie Boyd, Erika Langston and Mallory Langston.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leo and Doris Boyd and maternal grandfather, James Cutler.
