Frances Wilhelmina Zinner Kean, 100, born May 30, 1907, died November 5, 2007, at 5 p.m. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Ernest Zinner and Rose Ammon Zinner.
She was preceded in death by her husband George E. Kean. She was an artist and musician. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, politics and wearing out younger friends. Frances served as secretary and treasurer to German American Amaranth Fraternal Insurance. She was supervisor in the music department of J.L. Hudson Co. After living in Detroit and Myrtle Beach, S.C., she lived the last five years in New Bern.
She is survived by her son George Kean and daughter-in-law Nannette of Belhaven, N.C.
A memorial Mass will be held Monday, November 19, 2007, at St. Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Father Paul Mizener officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 3007 Country Club Road, New Bern, NC 28562 of a charity of one’s choice.
