Elsie Wallace Garriss, 69, of 144 Big John Store Rd., Margarettsville, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Va.
Mrs. Garriss was born in Beaufort County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie Waters Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Ray Garriss. Mrs. Garriss was a friend to all in the Margarettsville Community and will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Garriss is survived by her daughter Jeanne Skinner and her husband Sheldon of Margarettsville; two grandchildren, Allison Rice and Brittany Skinner, and two great-grandchildren Faith and Angel Pierce; her brothers, Wayne Wallace and his wife, Mary Faye of Plymouth and Cecil Wallace and his wife, Evy of Pinetown, and her sister, Lou Davenport, also of Pinetown.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 16, at Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins, Va. with the Rev. Tommy Glover officiating.
The family received friends Thursday, Nov. 15, from 7-8:30 at Mrs. Garriss’ Home.
