Mrs. Theresa Rogers Ayers, 90, of Bear Grass, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bear Grass Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Harold Pittman and Garlon Vick officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Ayers was born in Martin County on March 15, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Javan and Effie Green Rogers. On June 19, 1941, she married Abner Beryl Ayers Jr., who preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1993. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bear Grass Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Beryl Ayers of Columbus, Ohio, and Alan Rogers Ayers of Cary; one daughter, Theresa Ayers Griffin of Winston-Salem; one sister, Vara Green Rogers Harrison of Bear Grass; two brothers, Javan “Pete” Rogers of Bear Grass and Richard Eugene “Gene” Rogers; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 4-6 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home.
