Mr. Joseph Edward “Joe” Baker, 76, of Farmville, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Baker, a native of Jones County, spent most of his life in Pitt County. He had lived in Farmville since 1984. He was married to Evelyn Wells Baker, who survives. He was employed with Collins and Aikman for 17 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Farmville Church of God.
Survivors include one daughter, Marie B. Herring of Farmville; four sons, Joseph Baker Jr., Leland “Pete” Baker and James A. Baker, all of Farmville, and Dennis R. Baker of Snow Hill; one brother, Leland “Buddy” Baker of Washington; two sisters, Rachel Bridgeman and Peggy Ann Rouse, both of Washington; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
