Mrs. Eva Philistine Howell, 95, of 30 W. 138th St., New York, N.Y., died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Greater Harlem Nursing Center in New York, N.Y.
A graveside service will be conducted today, in Howell’s Memorial Garden, Roper.
Mrs. Howell was born in Washington County on March 23, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Van T. Howell and Erma Hawks. She was a member of Adam Clayton Powell Oversees Club and Courtney Guild Club. She was a member of Abyssinian Baptist Church of New York, N.Y., and Mount Eprew Baptist Church of Roper.
Survivors include one niece, Nannie Price of New York, N.Y. and one nephew, Lloyd “Jack” Howell of Plymouth.
