Ms. Thelma R. Corey, 52, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. John Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Washington, with Elder Russell Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Ms. Corey was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 26, 1955. She was the daughter of William S. Deans and the late Laura Bond Corey Whitaker. She attended the former City of Washington public schools and graduated in 1973. She was employed by Hamilton Beach Co. for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. John Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
Survivors include one daughter, Shanesta R. Griffin of Virginia Beach, Va.; one son, Derrick R. McCullough of Newport News, Va.; one brother, Ronnie Whitaker; one sister, Christine Moore of Washington and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Deans.
The family will receive friends at 5696 Belvue Farm Lane, Washington.
