Henry Elwood Cahoon, 92, longtime resident of 13487 North Lake Road, Engelhard, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at Cross Creek Health Care Center in Swan Quarter.
Born in Engelhard, March 24, 1915, he was the son of the late Closs Ethan and Sunnie Bell Williams Cahoon. He was married to Claudine Gibbs Cahoon who preceded him in death. He was a farmer and the founding owner of Pamco Implement where he served as president for a number of years, a member of Engelhard Christian Church where he served as an Elder in past years and was an avid gardener who supplied fresh vegetables to many people over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the family plot at Fulford Cemetery. Scott Sukeforth will officiate.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy C. Tomlinson and her husband, J.W. of Engelhard; a brother, Lancy Cahoon of Pinetown; a sister, Leona Hardison, a resident of Cross Creek Health Care in Swan Quarter; grandchildren Pamela T. Mann and her husband, Billy of Engelhard, Shari Tomlinson and her fiance, Kevin Parris of Greenville; great grandchildren Kristen M. Ireland and her husband Ronnie J., Kaitlyn Mann, Logan James and Madison Tomlinson; and a great-great grandchild, Layla Ireland.
Mr. Cahoon was preceded in death by brother J.B. Cahoon and sisters Mildred C. Hodges and Eris Dail C. Williams.
