Mr. James Edward Cooper Sr., 74, of 1084 U.S. Highway 64 East, Plymouth, died Friday, March 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia, with the Rev. Lawrence Satchell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Cooper was born in Mecklenburg County on March 4, 1934. He was the son of the late Mary E. Jones and Lewis Cooper. He had been employed as a truck driver.
Survivors include one son, James E. Cooper Jr. of Manteo; one brother, Vernon Jones of Charlotte; and one sister, Mary Douglas of New York.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
