Mrs. Dorothy Paul Hodges, 85, a resident of 212 Waterford Place, Washington, and a former resident of Chocowinity, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Warren Memorial Cemetery in Blounts Creek, with the Rev. George Jones officiating.
Mrs. Hodges was born in Beaufort County on May 22, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Bertie Paul and the late Carrie Bullock Paul. She married Louis Guy Hodges on Sept. 11, 1939. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1995. Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker and a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Hodges Evans of Williamston, Jayne Hodges Jones of Chocowinity and Velvet Hodges Blizzard of Washington; a son, Bert G. Hodges of Vanceboro; a sister, Sybil Harris of Washington; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by a son, Paul Wayne Hodges.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home.
