Mr. William Henry “Bud” Leggett, 88, died Saturday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christian Chapel Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Mr. Leggett was born in Martin County. He was the son of the late Henry and Martha Leggett. He was a farmer and carpenter. He was retired from the Public Oil Company. He was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ, where he served as an elder or deacon for over 50 years. He served as Sunday school superintendent and a Sunday school teacher for several years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife Fannie Leggett preceded him in death on June 1, 2003.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Roberson of Raleigh, Patsy Alley; two brothers, Nelson Leggett of Rocky Mount, Hilton Leggett of Ocean Isle; two sisters, Myrtle Roberson of Williamston, Katie Critcher of Raleigh; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Biggs Funeral Home.
