BETHEL — Mrs. Zella Blanche Briley Whitehurst, 83, of 431 Watson Circle, died Friday, May 9, 2008.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Micky Wynne, Ferrell Blount, Mike Whitehurst, Hal Manning, Taylor Carson and Jay Bedsworth.
Mrs. Whitehurst was born June 6, 1924 in Edgecomb County, daughter of the late Joe Burton and Haley Watson Briley. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was retired from Belvoir Manufacturing.
She was married to Sam Henry Whitehurst who preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, George Whitehurst of Tarboro; two daughters, Bonnie Mobley of Tarboro and Lucy Leary Bryan of Bethel and six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Walker-Ayers Chapel in Bethel and other times at the home.
