Edith Mae Brown Bryant, 92, of S. King Street, Windsor died Saturday May 17, 2008 at the Brian Center.
Graveside Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM at Edgewood Cemetery on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 with Rev. Noah Howard officiating. Brad Crumpler, Kelly Crumpler, Mark Thomas, Tim Gardner, Rocky Allen, Eric Crumpler will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Bryant was born in Nash County on September 23, 1915 to the late Jesse Brown and Mary Elizabeth Jones Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Mrs. Bryant was married to William Chapel “Buddy” Bryant who preceeded her in death, also a daughter, Edith Hope Bryant and a grandson, William Chapel “Chucky” Bryant III.
Survivors include a son, William Chapel “Butch” Bryant, Jr. of Idabel, Ok, a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Bryant Crumpler of Goldsboro, NC, a sister, Helen Clark of Rocky Mount, NC, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Walker Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. and will proceed to the cemetery in a procession. They will receive friends at other times at her home 1422 S. King Street, Windsor, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 302 South Queen Street, Windsor, NC 27983 or Bertie County Rescue Squad, 204 South Queen Street, Windsor, NC 27983.
Walker Funeral Home of Windsor is serving the Bryant family.
