Mrs. Helen Moore Windley of 327 Rebel Road, Washington, N.C., died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, May 20, 2008, at Loving Union Free Will Baptist Church with Bishop A.H. Hartsfield officiating. Burial will follow in Whootentown Cemetery.
Mrs. Windley was born November 4, 1919, to the late William and Effie Peele Moore in Beaufort County. She graduated from the Beaufort County Schools in 1940. Mrs. Windley was married to Mayshack Windley, who preceded her in death on December 13, 1996.
Survivors: 1 daughter, Arlene Windley of the home; 1 stepdaughter, Florence Lodge of Washington, N.C.; 1 niece, Debra Moore, raised as a daughter; 3 stepgrandchildren: Sharon, Julia Faye and Darrell; 4 stepgreat-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Olivia Best of Snow Hill, N.C., and Ella Windley of Virginia. Siblings preceding her in death: Lockwood Moore, William Moore, Sr., James Francis Moore, J. Thelma Moore, John F. Moore, Emma Reese and Anna Leigh.
The body will be placed in the church, one hour prior to service.
