Mrs. Louise Porter Buck, age 88, of 375 Aberdeen Drive, Washington, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Beaufort County Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, with Thelbert Leggett officiating.
Mrs. Buck was born in Beaufort County on January 20, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Ira Leon Porter and Martha Coward Porter. On August 7, 1935, she married Richard Ottis Buck, who preceded her in death on September 3, 1992. Mrs. Buck lived most of her life in the Chocowinity/Blounts Creek area.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Buck Lewis of Washington and Carolyn Buck Marslender and husband, J.L. of Plymouth; her son, Bobby R. Buck and his wife, Mertie of Chocowinity; her sister, Geneva P. Waters of Vanceboro; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Buck was preceded in death by five brothers, Leon, Will, Fountain, Alton and Edsil Porter and four sisters, Nola P. Lane, Verna P. Clark, Bertha P. Taylor and Marietta P. Dixon.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Patricia Lewis, 375 Aberdeen Drive, Washington.
