Mr. Ronald Donell Wilder, 58, of 617 Van Norden St., Washington, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Washington, with the Rev. William F. Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mr. Wilder was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 29, 1949. He was the son of Hughie E. Wilder Jr. and the late Mariah Collins Wilder. He was a 1968 graduate of P.S. Jones High School, Washington. He did further studies at Beaufort County Community College, Washington. He was an Air Force veteran. On Aug. 17, 1973, he married Brenda Green, who survives. His employment was with Singer Furniture Company, Chocowinity; National Spinning Mill, Washington, and as a correctional officer with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department, Washington. He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Washington.
Survivors include one daughter, Kizzy Lizzette Wilder of Washington; two sisters, Janet M. Devitt and Gale Evette McGill, both of Washington; and two brothers, Hughie E. Wilder III of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Sherman Tyler of Baltimore, Md.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Viewing will take place today from 1-7 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
