Mr. Marion Lee Warren, 76, of 308 Dell St., Robersonville, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, at Robersonville First Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Gay and Dallas Gurganus officiating. Burial will follow in Robersonville Cemetery.
Mr. Warren was born in Martin County on July 30, 1931. He was the son of the late Jack and Melissa Evans Warren. He was a Marine Corps veteran. He retired as a tobacconist with American Tobacco Co. On Oct. 18, 1955, he married Doris Bryant Warren, who preceded him in death Oct. 17, 2003. He was a charter member of Robersonville Lion’s Club, delivered Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Robersonville Zoning Board. He was a member of Robersonville First Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon.
Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Warren Stalls and husband Brian of Robersonville; three sons, Darrell G. Warren and wife Jonell and Marion Michael Warren and wife Cathy, all of Robersonville, and Timmy Warren of Kinston; two brothers, Alton Warren of Florida and Ward Warren of Robersonville; one sister, Evelyn Davenport of Greenville; five grandchildren, Kasie Lorraine Warren, Kaylin Nicole Warren, Alyssa Claire Warren, Darrell Glenn Warren II and Hailee Stalls; and two stepgrandchildren, Megan Varnadore and Marissa Varnadore.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Carlton Ray Warren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville.
