Mr. Ervin Ray Moore, 50, of 5458 Bonnerton Road, Edward, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Moore’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clinton Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 18, 1957. He was the son of Florida Moore of Aurora and the late Ivory Moore Sr. He was a 1976 graduate of the former Aurora High School. He furthered his studies at Guilford County Technical Community College. He was employed by PCS Phosphate prior to declining health. He was a member of Moore’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, E. Crystal Jeffries, Ervin L. Moore and Daniel R. Moore, all of Greensboro; three brothers, Ivory Moore Jr., Bernard Moore and Daniel Moore, all of Aurora; and six sisters, Mary F. M. Washington, Sadie M. Littlejohn and Carstella M. Greer, all of Maryland, Velma M. Kelly of Grantsboro, Corena Moore of the home and Angela M. Little of Raleigh.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington. The final viewing will take place at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 349 Bonnerton Road, Aurora.
