Julius Cleon Allen, 92, a Bath resident and formerly of Smithfield, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A memorial service will be held today in the Bath Christian Church with the Rev. Curtis White officiating. A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday in the Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.
Born Oct. 4, 1915, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Laura Adams Allen. He was a retired salesman with Whitley Wholesale in Smithfield. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Smithfield American Legion.
Survivors include wife, Pauline Collier Allen; son, Dan Allen of Tryon; a daughter, Barbara Oliver of Bath; a sister, Audrey Kerns of Bel Air, Md.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
