Mr. Mayo Hartman Judy, 86, of Beaufort, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at North River United Methodist Church in Beaufort with the Rev. Jim Durner officiating. Burial will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Judy was born in Pendelton County, W.Va., the son of the late Omer and Mary Judy. He was married to Serena Hammer Judy, who preceded him in death. He was a retired marine biologist with the NOAA lab on Pivers Island and served in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Theater, during WWII.
Survivors include his loving friend, Martha Jones of the home and three sons, Gregory Judy and wife Lele of Washington, Roy Judy and wife Sharon and Jeff Judy and wife Lynn, all of Beaufort; four siblings, Omer Judy Jr. of Monterey, Va., Billy Judy of Kesseltown, Va., Mary Jo Wilfong and Jack Judy of Franklin, W.Va.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday at Munden Funeral Home.
