Mr. Leroy Dixon Jr. of 2776 Woodlawn Road, Roper, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Roper with the Rev. Brady Carmack Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Dixon was born in Washington County on Feb. 18, 1925. He was the son of the late Leroy Dixon Sr. and Annie R. Hines Dixon. He was married to Naomi Fields Dixon, who preceded him in death. He had worked as a machine operator. He was a member of First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Roper.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Dixon Phelps of Roper.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie Dixon and Raymond Dixon.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at First Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Roper.
