Mrs. Maria Pulido Vinuesa Ives, 81, of 31134 N.C. Highway 33 East, Aurora, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington with the Rev. Sylvia Duke officiating.
Mrs. Ives was born in El Arenal Avila, Spain on May 20, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Wenceslaus Pulido Peres and Agapita Vinuesa Vinuesa. On Nov. 8, 1957, she married Horace Whitford Ives, who preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1965. She was a homemaker. She attended Campbells Creek United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Ives of Atlanta, Ga. and Carla Hoffner of Ocala, Fla.; two sons, John Ives of Aurora and Troy Ives of Chocowinity; one brother, Juan Pulido Vinuesa of Spain; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, John Ives, 316 Cypress Swamp Road, Aurora.
