Coach Sport Sawyer and his staff got a chance to see the Pam Pack in game action Wednesday against Roanoke. Washington was scheduled to scrimmage with the Farmville Central Jaguars.
However, a constant rain Tuesday night and throughout the day Wednesday left Farmville’s field under water. That left the field in unplayable condition, resulting in the cancellation of the scrimmage.
However, the Pack was able to pick up a scrimmage with Roanoke. Sawyer had mixed feelings after the scrimmage.
The Pam Pack will host the five-team jamboree Friday at J.G. “Choppy” Wagner Stadium. Joining the Pack will be Southside, Plymouth, Mattamuskeet and First Flight.
Action will begin at 6 p.m. Admission to the jamboree is $5.
The concession stand will be open and hamburgers and hot dogs will be sold.
Sawyer has been pleased with his team’s progress through training camp, but he does have some concerns.
Washington opens the regular season Aug. 22 at home against North Pitt.
