Mrs. Brenda Helen Rowe Tyer, a resident of 1410 Magnolia School Road, Washington, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville, conducted by Pastor Travis Boyd. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
Mrs. Tyer was born in Beaufort County on December 22, 1949. She was the daughter of Helen April Dixon Rowe and the late Billie Ray Rowe. Mrs. Tyer worked for Burroughs Corporation in New Jersey and later as a buyer for Hamilton Beach and Stanadyne.
On December 27, 1986, she married Robert Earl Tyer, Jr., who survives.
Surviving with her husband are her son, Robert Earl “Robby” Tyer III; her mother, Helen April Dixon Rowe of Washington; three sisters, Linda Ann Rowe Horton of Ayden, Elaine Marie Rowe of Indianapolis, Indiana, Catherine Anne Rowe Smith of Clay Root; one brother, Billie Allen Rowe of Washington and her faithful canine companion, Chelsea Magnolia Tyer.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home.
