Mrs. Beulah Mae Smith, 77, of Club Way Apt. 26, Greenville, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Chocowinity with the Rev. Melvin Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Smith No. 2 Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Beaufort County on March 5, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Moses and Rosella Pierce Gaye. She attended Beaufort County Schools. She was married to John W. Smith, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Velma Hardy of Greenville; one son, Johnnie Smith of Long Island, N.Y.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Elijah Gaye of Vanceboro and one sister, Clemmie Cox of Vanceboro.
She was preceded in death by one son, Rayvon Smith.
The family will receive friends at the home.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-8 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
