Ms. Janice Louise Byrd, 55, of 407 E. Third St., Apt. 404, Washington, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at House of Prayer Deliverance Ministries, Washington, with the Rev. Lewis Glaspie officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield &Whitley Cemetery.
Ms. Byrd was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 5, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Byrd and Louise Crews. She attended the former Washington City Schools.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Carter of Reidsville and Alonzo Byrd of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Ella Carter Lee of Boston, Mass.; one brother, Julius Carter of Boston, Mass., and eight grandchildren.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-7 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the home of Annie Woolard, 931 N. Bridge St., Washington.
