REIDSVILLE — Evelyn Putnam Rumley, 93, of 116 Longbow Road, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Cleveland Duke and Rev. George Fox officiating.
Mrs. Rumley was born in Polk County to the late John Lane and Louise Dula Putnam. She was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company with many years of service and was a charter member of Faith Christian Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lymon Beecher Rumley and two sisters.
Survivors include her son, Willard L. Rumley of the home; grandsons, Jeffery Lane Rumley, Willard Lee Rumley, III and wife, Victoria, and Gary Beecher Rumley; two great-grandchildren, Davis Lane Rumley and Willard Lee Rumley IV, and one on the way; and former daughter-in-law, Francine Casanova Brundage.
The family received friends from 6:00 — 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Other times the family will be at the residence of her son.
