Mr. Rondell Edward Boyd, 71, of 6578 Leary Mills Road, Chocowinity, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Wesley Cemetery with the Rev. Dick Tucker officiating. Vernon Scott Edwards, Glenn Edwards, Mathew Edwards, Chris Edwards, Michael Edwards and Steven Manning will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Boyd was born in Pitt County on Dec. 14, 1936. He was the son of the late Noah Elaster Boyd and Myrtle Ruth Carrow Boyd of Chocowinity, who survives. He was a retired Q.C. manager with the former Singer Furniture Co. in Chocowinity.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa B. Ross of Washington; one son, Ronnie Edward Boyd of Dunn; one stepson, Warren M. Morrisette Jr. of Grifton; one brother, Jerry Richard Boyd of Tampa, Fla.; four sisters, Charlotte Fay Edwards, Barbara G. Pantaleo and Patricia Lynn Boyd, all of Greenville, and Brenda B. Purser of Chocowinity; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wayne Boyd; one granddaughter, Rhonda D. Ross and two brothers, Rodger D. Boyd and Ted C. Boyd.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home.
