Mrs. Roberta Gorham James of 1117 Reason Road, Williamston died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Promise Land Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Jamesville, with pastor Anthony R. Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in the James family cemetery, Williamston.
Mrs. James was born in Martin County on March 31, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Anliza Peel and Raymond Gorham. She was a homemaker and a minister. She was a member of Promise Land Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Jamesville.
Survivors include one sister, Katie B. Rogers and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Arnicey G. Purvis and Annie G. Thompson; two brothers, James A. Gorham and William A. Gorham; and one son, Clyde Peel Sr.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Promise Land Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), 2817 Old U.S. 64 West, Jamesville.
