Mrs. April Dixon Willoughby, 41, of 571 Braddy Road, Washington, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Paul Funeral Home, Washington with the Rev. Bill Mobley officiating. Burial will follow in the Dixon family cemetery in Chocowinity. Andrew Lee Hewitt, Johnny Ray Hewitt, Stephen Thomas Hewitt Jr., Shane Armstrong, David Dixon and Brian Dixon will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Willoughby was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 4, 1967. She was the daughter of the late Allen Linner Dixon and Lillian Josephine Wall Dixon. She was a 1986 graduate of Chocowinity High School. On April 16, 1994, she married Whitford “Buddy” Willoughby, who survives. She worked as an aide in home health care with the Beaufort County Department of Social Services until her retirement due to health in May of 2007. She was a member of Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church, Pinetown, where she was a member of the ladies auxiliary.
Survivors include three sisters, Barbara D. Adams of Maysville, Lillian D. Armstrong and Sharon D. Carrow, both of Washington; and four brothers, Jesse L. Dixon, Royce G. Dixon and Joseph A. Dixon, all of Chocowinity, and Phillip S. Dixon of Washington.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home of her sister, Sharon Carrow, 115 Diamond C. Road, Washington.
