WINDSOR — Ira Glenn Cutrell, Sr., 83, of 704 Gatling Street, died Saturday at Bertie Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Cashie Baptist Church with Rev. Reese Blanchett officiating.
Mr. Cutrell was born in Pattillo, S.C. on Feb. 1, 1925 to the late George M. and Monia Turner Cutrell. He retired as president of the First Union National Bank in Windsor. He was a former member of the JC’s, the Rotary Club and the Veterans Club. He was the part chairman of the Bertie County Red Cross and past president of the Windsor Little League. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was a graduate of Elon College in 1948.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Doughtie Cutrell of Windsor; two daughters, Glenda Wheeless of Whitakers, Carol Strother of Oxford; three sons, Glenn Cutrell, Jr. of Greenville, Donald Cutrell of Mobile, Ala., George Cutrell of Herndon, Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Cashie Baptist Church, 221 S. Queen St., Windsor, NC 27983.
