Mr. Simon Daniel Moore, 86, of the Williamston House and formerly of Jamesville, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday in Siloam United Methodist Church in Jamesville, near Gardner’s Creek. A private burial will be scheduled for a later date at the Moore family cemetery in Jamesville.
Mr. Moore was born in Martin County on July 6, 1922. He was the son of the late Charlie Walter and Roland Maybell Hardison Moore. He served in the Army from June 1942 to December 1945.
Survivors include four children; one brother, Roy Moore of Roper; and one sister, Fannie Moore Roberson of Jamesville.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Wilson, L.C., Marshall, Mayo and Tommy Moore and one sister, Mae Moore Price.
The family will receive friends Friday immediately following the memorial service at Siloam United Methodist Church in Jamesville.
