Mr. Bruce David Kelly, age 52, a resident of 1823 Rosemont Drive, Apt. 68, Greenville, died Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Pitt Coounty Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ and will be conducted by Marty Alligood. Burial will follow in the Weston Family Cemetery. Rod Weston, Michael Weston, Chris Hurdle, Larry Rowe, Geoffrey Weston and Kaleb Weston will serve as pallbearers. Brian Rowe and WB Beddard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Bruce was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee, on May 15, 1956 to the late Frank and Charlotte Kelly. He was a graduate of Pulaski High School and Radford University. On April 9, 1993 he married Debbie Weston. He attended Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife Debbie of the home, two stepdaughters, Lauren P. Hurdle and husband Chris of Winterville, Kristen Peele of Winterville, his stepmother, Mary Vaughn Kelly of Pulaski, VA, half sister, Natalie K. McCurdy and husband Ken, one niece, Mary Grace McCurdy, his aunt and uncle, Katie and Douglas Kelly, his best friend, James D. Frost, Sr. of Greenville and his beloved pet, Baxter. Bruce was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank D. Kelly III and one sister, Caryn Kelly.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ prior to the service and Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the home of Phil and Judy Weston, 2073 Herring Run Road, Blounts Creek, NC 27814.
