Ms. Mary “Mutton” Silverthorne Hill, 68, of Vanceboro, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Cotten Funeral Home &Crematory in New Bern, with the Rev. Perry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Hill family cemetery.
Ms. Hill was a volunteer at Ware’s Chapel United Methodist Church Pre-school, Washington.
Survivors include one stepson, Bryan Hill of Tarboro; one stepdaughter, Karla Jo Harris of Tarboro; three brothers, Steve Silverthorne of Washington, Howard Silverthorne of Manteo and Jimmy Silverthorne of Greenville and three sisters, Sally Williams of Bath and Nancy Wiggins and Maggie Silverthorne, both of Vanceboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home &Crematory, New Bern.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ware’s Chapel UMC Pre-school, 2788 N. Market St., Washington, NC 27889.
